Review: Liquid 04/2006

Trust in La Besi as modern Mediterranean comes to Leeds. A family run restaurant central to Headingley and Leeds town centre. With outdoor seating to enjoy a bright warm summers day or unwind in the cool breeze of a summers eve.

Original, contemporary artwork completes the warm and intimate interior, providing a unique setting for you to sit and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere La Besi provides.

Even bring your own wine, to make the occasion more personable to your tastes. Open seven days a week, you can enjoy Sunday dinner with a difference and experience cuisine from a variety of Italian starters and many of their traditional favourites. Depending on your taste, its not only the food you can choose from but the type of evening you want, ranging from cosy and calm gatherings on a Monday or Tuesday to a more busy and lively stride towards the weekend. The menu itself offers an excellent variety of starters and main dishes, that should please all tastebuds.

To accompany the meal, a courtesy basket of freshly baked bread is presented. Made from a secret family recipe, the bread had a distinct taste and melts in the mouth.

An array of colours are presented with each dish as careful thought has gone in to the preparation. Full of flavour yet light and refreshing cuisine, leaving room to enjoy one of the many desserts with several recipes, new, to experience along with many favourite sweets too! For something different try their ice cream dessert filled with cream and candied fruit. Light on the palate and absolutely delicious. You’re sure to leave an empty plate. What’s more, the staff are pleasant and amiable, welcoming one in their kindness. Open to all and already proving popular with the locals, the Italian community and students… why don’t you try La Besi.
